Deadheads have been waiting and waiting for ticket information to be released for the Grateful Dead 60th anniversary concerts Aug. 1-3 on the Polo Field in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
Well, the wait is finally over.
Three-day tickets for these concerts go on sale at 10 a.m. May 30. There will also be a presale at 10 a.m. May 28, deadandcompany.com. Register in advance for Dead & Company presale tickets at deadandcompany.com.
Three-day tickets start at $635 ($556 + $79 fees).
Single-day ticket information will be announced at a later date. They will be priced at $245 ($209 + $36 fees).
There will also a limited quantity of $60 tickets (available by lottery) for California firefighters beginning at 10 a.m. June 4.
The concerts are being headlined by Dead & Company, the phenomenally popular Grateful Dead spinoff that just finished up its second lengthy run at The Sphere in Las Vegas.
Opening acts for the three-day Golden Gate Park run are Billy Strings on Friday, Aug. 1, Sturgill “Johnny Blue Skies” Simpson on Saturday, Aug. 2, and Trey Anastasio Band on Sunday, Aug. 3.
Each of those opening acts will reportedly be playing 75-minute sets.
The concerts celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Grateful Dead, the iconic Bay Area jam band that got its start in Santa Clara County in 1965.
The shows are being presented by Another Planet Entertainment and co-produced with Live Nation, in partnership with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.
