H. Moser’s Streamliner Genesis 2 Watch Is A Minimalist Marvel

The second of three limited-edition watches in H. Moser’s “Genesis” collection follows 2022’s radical, blockchain-backed Endeavor Centre Seconds with a “return to matter” that’s “anchored firmly in the tangible.” The Streamliner Genesis 2’s mission statement could have been the plan all along, or perhaps H. Moser came to the conclusion that the technology behind cryptocurrency doesn’t need to be integrated into every type of consumer product.

One thing’s for sure: The watch is simpler in concept and design when compared to its predecessor, which featured a sapphire crystal QR code that allows owners to access H. Moser’s “dedicated digital and virtual ecosystem” to purchase certain future limited editions, enjoy H. Moser’s membership benefits, and receive exclusive invitations to brand launch events.

In contrast, the second act in the H. Moser Genesis trilogy features an a stainless steel bracelet with fluid links that continues the signature codes and finishes of the Streamliner collection while subtly referencing the watch that kicked off the collection. The dial is again dominated by Vantablack, which devours nearly 100 percent of all light waves as the darkest man-made substance ever created. The hour and minute hands topped with inserts of Globolight, a combination of Super-LumiNova pigment and ceramic. Upon close inspection, jagged, pixel-esque shapes can be seen accenting the hands and 3D-printed crown—nods to the forms found on the original Endeavor Centre Seconds Genesis’s case, bezel and crown.

To preserve the Genesis trilogy’s exclusivity, the Streamliner Genesis 2 will be available only to the 50 owners of the Endeavour Centre Seconds Genesis. However, H. Moser is producing 100 examples of the Streamliner Genesis 2, giving those owners the opportunity to acquire two each—one for themselves, and one for a family member or friend.
