To celebrate Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary, the newly opened Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe at Universal CityWalk Hollywood is adding three limited-time treats to their menu.
Kicking off on Hello Kitty Day on Friday, Nov. 1, guests will be able to purchase three new 50th anniversary-themed items, an anniversary cake, a 50th cookie sandwich and a sparkling 50th drink.

The anniversary cake is a confetti cake layered with white chocolate mousse and topped with whipped white ganache, plus a chocolate decoration of Hello Kitty’s iconic bow.
The 50th cookie sandwich is a strawberry sugar cookie with raspberry buttercream between the layers and also features the chocolate bow decoration.
The final limited-time item is the sparkling 50th drinking which is a strawberry soda with coconut cream foam on top. On top of the foam is strawberry powder sprinkled on top with a 50th anniversary decor. The 50th anniversary items will be available purchase through Dec. 31.
In addition to items on their signature menu such as the berry & cream churro and the macaron set, the grab-and-go menu is also introducing two new hot beverages, the Mocha Bow Bomb Latte and the Hot Chocolate Bow Bomb. Each beverage comes with a chocolate sphere that melts to reveal mini marshmallows and a pink bow marshmallow when placed in the drink.
Universal CityWalk rolls out a virtual pastel pink carpet to welcome the Hello Kitty® and Friends Cafe, serving a scrumptious selection of sweet treats and specialty beverages, and the Sanrio® Smile Shop, offering a variety of collectible merchandise featuring Hello Kitty®, Cinnamoroll, Keroppi, Kuromi, My Melody, Badtz-maru and Chococat.
Next door to the Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe is the Sanrio Smile Shop, which sells a wide variety of Hello Kitty and Friends merchandise. The store is also selling a few 50th anniversary items to celebrate Hello Kitty including a loungefly backpack, stationary, and a gold Hello Kitty ears headband.
