Music production is the real force behind the music we all know and love. From its accurate recording to viral marketing and beyond, music production is the real backbone that makes the industry come alive. One such maverick American producer who has climbed the success chart independently, sans the backing of any label, is self-made tycoon and Partner at DFD Music, Shane De’Angelo Foster.
Born in Washington DC in 1981, Foster grew up in the small town of Windsor in Bertie County and Fayetteville, North Carolina. He pursued a B.A. in Entertainment Business from Los Angles Film School and graduated summa cum laude in 2018 with a 3.9 GPA. Following this, Foster went on to become a self-made entertainment mogul. One who is often compared to the likes of Quincy Jones, P Diddy, and Dame Dash. Whether it was writing or directing, engineering or producing videos, marketing, or handling music business at an executive level, he became known for handling it all single-handedly.
Aside from his illustrious career in the music industry, he is also a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served with distinction as an elite Paratrooper. As a result of traumatic brain injuries and the subsequent PTSD, he had to leave the armed forces and ventured into the entertainment industry.
Currently focused on giving maximum exposure to artists, promoting local music artists and groups, and increasing live appearances and record sales, Foster states : “Playing music has always been apart of my life. After my brain injury, I underwent cognitive therapy and went back to the basics with music and entertainment. I wanted to focus on life outside of the military, working in the entertainment field.”
Since then, Foster has produced, engineered, and marketed several music projects, such as “Hits the Collection”, which has been streamed over a million times on the Spotify platform in less than three months. Foster is an extraordinary music influencer whose Instagram account @therealshanefoster has more than 66,000 fans. Known for his immense musical prowess, Foster has also worked with myriad artists in the past, such as YoGotti, Young Dolph, BoosieBadazz, MoneybaggYo, Mila J, Project Pat, Lady Luck, Pastor Troy and more. His sharp business acumen has made him a part of projects that sold over 300,000 units in music sales. Overall, his career span has witnessed success on a range of digital platforms, which have generated over 5 million streams.
In the end, the real challenge of any trendsetting musical producer in this competitive industry is to supply the market with music that is popular among its targeted demographics. When that is achieved with such flying colors, it is a complete overall success!
