True crime and DNA
Criminalist Cordelia Willis will discuss the evolution of forensic DNA testing on Oct. 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the next History Happy Hour at the Campbell Museums, 51 N. Central Ave.
A criminalist for almost 30 years, Willis has worked in many different areas of the crime lab, from controlled substances and latent fingerprints to biological evidence and shoeprints and even video and cell phone processing. She has testified as an expert witness over 90 times—including five times as a witness for the defense—has worked over 60 crime scenes and organizes regular CSI training for Bay Area law enforcement agencies.

Friends book sale
The Friends of the Campbell Library is holding its last used book sale of the yar on Saturday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., on the patio outside the Campbell Express Library at 1 W. Campbell Avenue.
The sale will feature books for all ages, as well as puzzles, games, DVDs, CDs and Blu-Ray, and Friends volunteers will have their handmade items for sale. All items except for these crafts will be 50% off the marked price. Payment is by cash or card.
The Friends will also be accepting jewelry of all types for their next jewelry sale, and tax receipts will be available.

Oktoberfest Fun Run
Registration is now open for the Oktoberfest Fun Run/Walk 10K, 5K and Kids’ Dash, set for Saturday, Oct. 18, at 9 a.m. at Campbell Park.
The race precedes the Downtown Campbell Oktoberfest. Register by Oct. 6 to secure a 10K/5K race day shirt and medal. Registration is $25-$50 at www.campbellca.gov/oktoberfest.
