Holiday Road lights event brings smiles and some exercise in Calabasas

Fans of seeing larger-than-life holiday lights enjoyed wandering along the one-mile walk at the 6th annual “Holiday Road” on Monday night at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas.

The event is an immersive, at-your-own-pace walk along a trail that goes through light tunnels, past holiday-theme light installations, a “snow” falling area, and many areas for fun photo opportunities. Holiday theme areas include the North Pole (think Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and elves), a Gingerbread Lane, and fields of candy canes.

Food and beverages are available for purchase at a variety of food trucks. In addition, seasonal alcoholic drinks for purchase for ages 21 and older at the event’s “Holiday Bars.” No outside food or beverages are allowed.

Admission and parking are sold online-only and are by designated time slots, beginning at 5 p.m. The event at 26800 Mulholland Highway in Calabasas runs through Dec. 27 but is closed on Christmas Day.
