Horror as boy, 8, bitten in FACE by Staffordshire Bull Terrier while riding bike along street – with man, 54, arrested

AN eight-year-old boy was bitten in the face by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier while on his bike in a horror attack.

The youngster was cycling in Goole, Yorkshire, when he was “mauled” by the dog on May 11.

The boys terrified father Luke said he witness his son with “blood all over his face.”

He said: “It’s traumatising for an eight-year-old kid to be mauled like that. He’s absolutely petrified.

“Everyone was screaming in the street. It was terrible.”

Cops and paramedics raced to Morley Street at around 10am and the boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries to his face and arm.

Luke said his boy had to have a five-hour reconstruction operation Leeds General Infirmary.

“It’s just crazy. I didn’t think it ever happen [let alone] outside your house,” he added.

Cops believe the dog was a Staffordshire bull terrier which has now been seized by police.

Chief Inspector Rob Danby said: “This was clearly a very distressing event for the child and their family and the police investigation into the incident continues as we gather information relevant to our enquiries.

“Our Dog Legislation Officer has been involved with the investigation and these discussions continue as we look to take the most appropriate action.

“We urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information that could assist our inquiries to please contact us via our non-emergency number, 101, quoting log number 153 of 11 May.”
