The winner from Nerang in Queensland, Australia explained that she was struggling to purchase a home and was about to lose her job before she got the life-changing call.

The woman, who wished to stay anonymous was in a state of shock when she got the call for The Lott officials.

When told of her life changing prize, she said: “Is this a joke? Oh my god.”

“Are you serious? This is crazy! Jesus Christ!

“I’ve always thought, ‘maybe one day it would be my turn’  but nothing prepares you for this.

“This is completely life-changing.

“It’s so hard to believe that I’ve won the Jackpot Prize and will have $21 million (£11m) in my back pocket.

“I had no idea I’d won anything until you called me.”

The winner said she didn’t know where to start spending her windfall, but did say she had plans to find somewhere to call home.

She said: “I’m meant to be leaving my job in a couple of weeks but now that I think about it, I could just leave tomorrow.

“I could honestly stop working for good.

“I’ve also been trying to buy a house for a little while now so this will definitely help me secure somewhere I can call home.

“This prize is huge and is going to completely change my life. Thank you, thank you.”

Closer to home, a single ticket holder scooped the £11 million National Jackpot prize on June 8.

Subject to validation the prize will then be paid at an appointment with one of Allwyn’s Winners’ Advisers.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “We’re so excited that this incredible Lotto jackpot prize has now been claimed.

“This ticket-holder was certainly keeping us on our toes by waiting a few days before coming forward, but now they have made their claim the possibilities for this lucky ticket-holder with a whopping £11.4million in their bank account are endless.”

Earlier this month, one lucky grandmother won a mammoth £66k in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Shirley Hehir, 83, scooped £66,666 alongside her neighbours in Folkestone, Kent in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The great-grandmother initially thought she had only won £1000, but was brought to tears when she heard the correct amount.

Shes already planning on how she’ll spend her winnings.

Shirley said she wants to buy a bigger car and treat her family.

The 83-year-old continued: “I might have a new car. I’d like to go up to something just a bit bigger. And I’ll give all my grandchildren something.
