I was offered TEN peerages and a knighthood from ‘corrupt’ Boris allies to stand aside in 2019, Nigel Farage claims

NIGEL Farage says he was offered TEN peerages and a knighthood from Boris Johnson’s allies for his party to stand aside in the 2019 election.

The Brexit supremo – who turned down the offer – said it was “bribery – corruption on the most extraordinary level” .

His bombshell claim is likely to spark a furious ‘seats for honours’ row.

Mr Farage also said the Conservative Party  is “doomed” and rightwingers like Suella Braverman will end up joining his Reform UK party.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Nigel finally revealed explosive details of the deal he says team Boris offered in return for not running against the Tories.

He said: “What I was offered was so immoral, it wasn’t true.”

Asked what he was offered, Mr Farage added: “Ten peerages for the party, a knighthood for me.

“I wouldn’t take a peerage because I said I wouldn’t take a peerage under any circumstances.

“It was bribery. It was corruption on the most extraordinary level.

“And those that know me when this offer was made said they’d never heard me shout so loudly. I was that angry at total corruption.”

He said Mr Johnson did not make the offer directly – but those very close to him did.

“Boris is too clever for that. I mean like no fingerprints on it. But made by people absolutely right next door to him.

“It was the most corrupt thing I’ve ever seen in British politics.

“I didn’t accept it.”

Mr Farage ended up giving the order that the Brexit Party would not run against the Tories in 300 seats.

He said he made the decision not for a gong or peerages, but because he feared that Remainers would end up winning seats and thwarting Brexit unless he gave the Tories a clear run.

Boris has previously branded claims he offered peerages to the Brexit Party “nonsense”.

In a punchy interview, Mr Farage also declared that up to 50 Tory MPs could quit and join him in Reform UK.

“There is a feeling that at some point we will have to be in the same party”, he said.

Singling out Suella Braverman and Jacob Rees-Mogg, he added: “The centre of gravity of the Tory party High Command is so far away from me it is not true. So far away from Suella it is not true. So far away from Jacob it is not true.

“So I’m looking to reshape the future of British politics.”

A spokesman for Boris pointed back to his previous denial.
