Ikon Base Pass holders are going to get more than they bargained for when they bought their passes for the upcoming ski season — unlimited early-season skiing at Arapahoe Basin from opening day through Dec. 19.
Arapahoe Basin announced the new benefit on Monday.
The Ikon Base Pass is the less expensive of two options for season pass holders and comes with restrictions. When it went on sale at early-bird prices last March it cost $909, while the Ikon Pass without restrictions cost $1,329. Both passes are now selling for $100 more.
Prior to Monday’s announcement, Ikon Base Pass holders were limited to five days days at Arapahoe Basin. Now they are entitled to unlimited skiing and riding there until Dec. 20. From then until the end of the season, they will be entitled to five more days.
Full Ikon Pass holders are entitled to unlimited skiing at A-Basin this season for the first time. The area was acquired by Alterra Mountain Company last year.
A-Basin is usually the first Front Range ski area to open for the season. It opened in October three of the past four seasons and in 20 of the past 22.
