There wasn’t much concern about Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen actually missing the season opener, and whatever doubt existed was essentially eliminated Friday when he was a full participant in practice.
Allen stepped out of practice Aug. 24 because of an issue with his cleats, which caused what the team later would call a heel injury. He was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, though there’s a good chance the team simply was being careful not to overwork a player entering his 12th season.
Coach Matt Eberflus downplayed it has a non-issue and indicated Allen will play.
Over the last seven seasons, Allen has played 101 of a possible 115 regular-season games. He’s coming off a career-high 108 catches for the Chargers last season.
As far as the rest of the Bears’ injury report, defensive end Montez Sweat (toe) also was listed as questionable, but Eberflus indicated the outlook was good for him to play. He practiced in full Friday as well.
There’s also a concern with defensive end Darrell Taylor, potentially a starter, after he missed practice Friday because of a foot injury.
The Bears ruled out backup defensive tackle Zacch Pickens (groin), and the Titans ruled out safety Jamal Adams for Sunday because of a hip injury.
Bears coach Matt Eberflus listed Allen and Sweat as questionable on the injury report, but indicated the outlook is that both will play.
