SAN JOSE – Two suspects are in custody following an investigation into a double stabbing earlier this year in San Jose, police said.
Officers were initially called to an area hospital around 11:30 p.m. on March 7 for a report of a person stabbed, according to San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih. A man and a woman had arrived at the facility, both suffering from stab wounds.
An initial investigation revealed the victims had been assaulted that evening in the area of 21st and East Santa Clara streets, Shih said, adding that one suspect stabbed the man with a box cutter, while the other stabbed the woman with a broken bottle.
Detectives opened an investigation and identified the suspects as a pair of San Jose men, ages 26 and 24, according to Shih. Warrants were then issued for their arrest.
On Sept. 24, the suspects were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and booked into Santa Clara County jail.
The suspects are being held without bail, according to jail records.
As for the victims, the man has recovered but the woman is continuing to receive medical care.
