It’s time for the scary hayride in Griffith Park, where zombies and mazes await
The Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group is holding its annual scary hayride event at the Crystal Springs Picnic Area in Griffith Park. In their promotion of the hayride the group stated, “The Spirit of Halloween comes to life surrounding helpless victims brave enough to board the hayride.” This year Cassandra Peterson, known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, will have her own maze.
The fictional setting for the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride is in an annual Halloween festival in the imaginary town of Midnight Falls, which is eternally trapped in the year 1985.

Those going to the hayride will see Melvin the Mortician and his evil clown friend, a giant skeleton, an actor holding “a head,” Monte Revolta performing his “biggest hit songs” and a “scare actor” grabbed by a zombie.
In the main event, guests take a tractor-pulled ride through scare zones with sets, animatronics and live actors. The attraction also features haunted walkthrough mazes, and “mini escape games” where groups have five minutes to solve clues and riddles to escape a room. The spectacle is open through November 2.
