Jordan Miller returns to Clippers on two-way contract

Less than a month after waiving him, the Clippers brought back guard/forward Jordan Miller on a two-way contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Miller, who was promoted to a standard contract last season, would have been owed a partial guarantee of $350,000 had he remained on the roster past July 15, and his $2.19 million deal for next season also had a second trigger date for making the regular-season roster. But the Clippers waived him to make room for veteran guard Bradley Beal, with the thought that they could bring back Miller in some capacity, if he didn’t land any other opportunities.

After being waived, Miller, stayed with the team for the NBA Summer League, where he made the All-Summer League First Team. A second-round pick in the 2023 draft, he averaged 22 points on 53% shooting from the field and 39% from 3-point range to go with 7.8 rebounds per game.

Last season, the 6-foot-5 Miller averaged 4.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 37 NBA games.

In a corresponding move, the Clippers waived 6-9 forward Patrick Baldwin Jr., a 2022 second-round draft pick, who has played much of his career in the G League.
