Justin Timberlake took $2 million hit on sale of 127-acre property weeks before DWI arrest as tour struggled to sell

JAIL wasn’t the first thing on Justin Timberlake’s mind when cops arrested him earlier this week for a DWI.

As the A-lister was arrested Monday night after allegedly driving drunk in Sag Harbor, New York, Timberlake couldn’t stop the feeling that the arrest would further damage his tour’s ticket sales.

“This is going to ruin the tour,” the former NSYNC member could be heard saying as he was placed under arrest, The Standard reported.

The young arresting officer, who had no idea who Timberlake was, asked him what tour he was talking about.

“The world tour,” Timberlake replied.

Timberlake announced his tour, titled “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” on Jimmy Fallon’s late night show this January.

However, it may be time for Timberlake to say bye, bye, bye to his hopes of selling out the 86-show tour.

Ticket sales for the world tour have been, at best, sluggish, with thousands of tickets still available for his next four dates in Chicago and New York.

At the end of June, the Cry Me A River singer is due to perform at the United Center in Chicago then onto Madison Square Gardens for two gigs.

Looking at the seating map on Ticketmaster for all four shows, the map is illuminated in shades of blue, which signifies high ticket availability.

The tickets, which are a mixture of resale tickets and tickets that haven’t been sold, are spread out throughout the arena, with only a handful of sections being sold out for all shows.

The tour moves to Europe next month hitting Poland, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and France.

According to Timberlake’s official website, none of the dates he’s performing are sold out in any country.

Despite slow sales, it was reported that “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour” had already amassed $140 million, which is a huge amount to lose if, as The U.S. Sun reported this week, tour dates could be scrapped.

The SexyBack singer was probably hoping to make his money back from the tour in order to help pay off property debt on his stunning Hollywood Hills home, which he listed for sale for $35 million in 2021 before pulling it off the market months later.

Timberlake owned the nine-bed, 13-bathroom mansion since July 2002, when he purchased it from actress Helen Hunt for $8.3 million.

Public records show that he saddled it with an $8.8 million home equity line of credit with Citibank in July 2009.

It’s not clear why he’d need the cash in a hurry, but he seems to have been trying to downsize his property empire in recent years.

The former boyband star, and his wife, Jessica Biel, also sold their Tribeca penthouse for $29 million in 2022.

On top of selling his homes, Timberlake also seems to be trying to sell a 127 acre plot of land located 20 minutes outside of Nashville, Tennessee.

He purchased the 127-acre site for $4 million in the picturesque village of Leiper’s Fork for $4 million in 2015 – and listed the property for $10 million this past August.

The property sold for $8 million in late May, which is still $2 million under the original asking price.

A DWI charge and a potential touring flop aren’t the only two scandals that may have had Timberlake taking a good look in the mirror the past few years.

In 2019, Timberlake publicly apologized to his wife after being caught on camera cozying up to co-star Alisha Wainwright in New Orleans.

“I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people I love,” Timberlake wrote in a public Instagram story apology.

“A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment – but let me be clear – nothing happened between me and my co-star.”

“I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son,” he said.

“I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be.”

“This was not that.”

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office confirmed that Timberlake will be putting on his suit and tie to appear virtually for a court hearing on July 26 regarding his recent arrest.

Jessica ‘colosally embarrassed’

With dark circles etched under her eyes, Justin Timberlake’s wife Jessica Biel looked broken while filming scenes in New York for her upcoming Amazon series, The Better Sister, yesterday.

“Jessica will be colossally disappointed and embarrassed that once again, Justin is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons,” a source said.

“There’s going to be a lot of questions asked of Justin moving forward, without a doubt.

“He clearly has this self-destructive streak that keeps rearing its head.

“Jessica has shown the patience of a saint forgiving his various misdeeds over the past few years but this is really testing her patience and then some.

“It’s well known that their marriage has been on the brink for some time.

“But he’s gone and screwed up again, which is going to affect everyone in his world, not just him.”
