The Princess of Wales has donned a new hairstyle at the Natural History Museum – a far cry from her normally chocolate-coloured locks.
Kate is the institution’s patron, and paid a visit with husband William to learn about the attraction’s gardens, used as a teaching, research and recreational resource.
But her visit has gone viral because of a very noticeable change in her appearance – some new blonde-ish hair.
It was first noticed while she rode in the car on the way to church last week, but it’s her first time giving us a full glimpse.
The Princess beamed as she was shown around one of London’s most popular museums, the day after the new term began for the couple’s children.

After being diagnosed with cancer back in 2024 and now making a big move to Forest Lodge for their ‘forever home’, the princess has been through a stressful period of change.
While it’s unknown whether she’s coloured her hair or it’s lightened in the sun, Kate certainly has a new look.
Psychotherapist Eloise Skinner told Metro last week: ’A visible change can remind us we’re beginning again.’
Kate’s change from her normally sleek dark hair to a more voluminous look in 2012 got people talking as well.
The heavy, side-sweeping fringe and shoulder-length curls flicked up at the ends were a far cry from her previously simple, stunning look in the early 2000s, but a major hit with fans.

During their visit to the museum today, the prince and princess will meet children taking part in learning programmes in the attraction’s gardens, aimed at helping them connect with nature and boost biodiversity in central London.
Kate has spoken in the past about the importance of children spending time in the natural world, and she helped create the family-friendly Back To Nature play garden that was exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019.
She also urged society to ‘reconnect to nature and celebrate a new dawn within our hearts’ in a voiceover for Spring, the first of her series of social media videos celebrating the seasons released earlier this year.
The museum gardens opened in 2024, featuring grassland, wetland and woodland habitats, and are said to serve as a living laboratory where visitors and scientists can monitor wildlife in an urban environment.
During their visit, William and Kate will also be shown how cutting-edge technology is being used in the garden to inform the museum’s conservation and research biodiversity projects.
