The paedo, who was convicted of multiple sexual offences against two young children, had recently been released from prison.

Brown, 28, claimed he lost his temper when Rowe “sniggered, bragged and laughed” after being confronted with a newspaper article about his depraved crimes.

The dad has now been jailed for 13 years after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Maidstone Crown Court heard the horror unfolded on September 3 when Brown visited his pal’s home where Rowe was staying.

The trio were all chatting when Brown confronted the paedo about his crimes, Kent Online reports.

He beat Rowe with “sheer ferocity” – causing multiple injuries to his head, neck and torso including 27 rib fractures.

Brown then covered Rowe in a blanket and left him on the living room floor without calling an ambulance.

Chilling CCTV showed him returning to the house hours later to collect his car but not going inside to check on his victim.

Although he initially kept quiet about the attack, Brown later confessed to a family member and the police were called.

Officers found Rowe on a bloodstained carpet propped up against the sofa.

He was wearing just a T-shirt and underwear and his head had been tightly wrapped in a towel.

A post mortem showed he had suffered a “significant” brain injury, fractures to his nose and eye and one of his teeth had been knocked out.

In his evidence, Brown claimed he only lashed out when Rowe boasted his offending “wasn’t the first time and probably wouldn’t be the last”.

He added: “I just kept thinking he had raped an innocent child and I exploded.”

When asked if he intended to cause really serious harm to the pensioner or to kill him, Brown replied: “God no. Definitely not. No.”

The dad was cleared of murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

He will have to serve two thirds of his sentence before he can apply for parole and was also made subject of an extended licence period of four years.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Emma Lawry of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate said: “Brown’s violent outburst left Mr Rowe with horrendous injuries and despite knowing he had severely injured him, he did not seek medical help but instead fled the property, seeking to only protect himself.

“This fit of rage has ultimately led to Mr Rowe losing his life and has left Brown facing an extensive prison sentence. His family have also been affected by his actions, and must now come to terms with what he has done.

“The sheer level of violence he used suggested that he was intent on causing serious harm to Mr Rowe and he must now face the consequence of his actions.”
