The Ascot Racecourse is expected to play host to King Charles III and Queen Camilla today as the royals hope to see their horses triumph.

Today is the first day of the five days of Royal Ascot, with the Berkshire race track hosting dozens of races through June 22.

As one of the most iconic events in the racing calendar, it will see thousands of spectators descending upon the renowned racecourse in frivolous frocks and fascinators.

There are seven races each day of the meeting with the first beginning at 2.30pm and others every 35 or 40 minutes after. The final race of the day gets underway at 6.15pm.

Racegoers are expected to enjoy warm and dry weather for this week’s events.
