Sir Rod Stewart has managed a feat not many can say they’ve achieved: leaving the king in stitches.

The rockstar was in attendance at The King’s Foundation Awards in London last night, with dozens of celebrities making an appearance at the glitzy event.

King Charles took the opportunity to meet some of those famous faces, despite his royal calendar being slimmed down following his cancer diagnosis.

And while speaking with Sir Rod and football icon David Beckham, the trio descended into laughter thanks to a joke from the music legend.

Rod, 79, made a gesture with his fingers which the king found absolutely hilarious, as well as David, who could be seen laughing in the background.

The rocker was attending the event with his wife Penny Lancaster, who greeted the king with a warm embrace and a kiss on his cheek.

Coming to today, a couple of the royals will be out and about at engagements this Wednesday, ahead of the Trooping of the Colour on Saturday.

The Duke of Edinburgh is set to take a tour of some gardens, while the Princess Royal is visiting the University of London.
