Some roads and freeway offramps were closed Saturday evening as law enforcement agencies prepared for possible reaction to the end of the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Los Angeles Police Department also declared a citywide tactical alert to prepare for any possible public response. The alert allows the agency to keep officers on duty beyond their normal shifts.
Caltrans, noting there was also a hockey game at Crypto.com Arena between the LA Kings and the New Jersey Devils, at 6:52 p.m. said some Downtown LA off-ramps near LA Live were closed:

The LAPD Central Division and LA Metro noted some related closures and changes to bus service.
—Pico Boulevard between LA Live Way and Grand Avenue
—Flower Street between Ninth Street and Venice Boulevard
—Hope Street between Ninth and Venice
—Olympic Boulevard between LA Live Way and Grand.
LA Metro will detour all northbound buses from Figueroa Street to Hope between Pico and Olympic boulevards until about 11 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol and Caltrans similarly announced off-ramp closures in East Los Angeles, including for the 5 Freeway to Atlantic Boulevard and Eastern Avenue, the 60 Freeway to Atlantic and the 710 Freeway at Whittier Boulevard and Olympic Boulevard.
The LA County Sheriff’s Department advised on social media it was working with other law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety and prepare for any unruly celebrations.
“Keep celebrations friendly and avoid confrontations or unsafe crowd behavior,” LASD said on social media.
