LA County residents enjoying perfect summer weather
If there’s such a thing as perfection when it comes to summer weather, then Southern Californians have been enjoying it this week.
Los Angeles County residents have been granted a reprieve from the usually blistering summer heat this week, with temperatures on the coast remaining around 70 degrees — and even the valleys, known for sweltering temperatures, have stayed in the 80s.
And residents have been enjoying it.

Families, for example, brought their floaty-wearing kids to Buccaneer Bay Waterpark at Splash! In La Mirada to do just as the name suggests: splish and splash. At the Westfield Topanga Mall, meanwhile, patrons sat in the new food court while sunbeams streamed through skylights, lighting up colorful umbrellas suspended in midair.
And there’s good news ahead: the pleasant weather wil continue through at least Saturday, the National Weather Service said in a Wednesday, July 23, forecast — and long-term projects show calm weather prevailing beyond then.
The brutal summer heat, however, seems likely to arrive at some point. But for now, residents are soaking up the perfect amount of sun.
