Not a lot of movement this week despite league play kicking off; however, Chaminade rises after an impressive win over Bishop Amat at home. There could be some movement in next week’s rankings due to Top 10 matchups, including Westlake at Thousand Oaks and Chaminade at Sierra Canyon.
1. Sierra Canyon (6-0): The Trailblazers defense pitched its fourth shutout of the year with a 30-0 win over Serra including two interceptions returned for touchdowns. Serra did not complete a pass in 10 attempts and had just 21 rushing yards. | vs. Chaminade
2. Notre Dame (4-2): The Knights defeated Loyola convincingly, 35-10. Wyatt Brown had four touchdowns (three rushing, one passing) in the win. Noel Washington ran for 113 yards. | at Bishop Amat
3. Valencia (5-1): Vikings coming off a bye week. | vs. Canyon
4. Chaminade (3-3): The Eagles boat-raced Bishop Amat home 35-0 in a surprising result that indicates Chaminade is capable of high-level play on Friday nights. | at Sierra Canyon
5. Westlake (6-0): The Warriors stay unbeaten in a 49-20 victory over Rio Mesa. Freshman QB Ford Green threw three TDs. Demanie Bell ran for three.| at Thousand Oaks
6. Newbury Park (4-2): The Panthers take down Santa Barbara 31-21, but lose 5-star QB Brady Smigiel for the rest of the season. Coach (and father) Joe Smigiel says Brady tore the ACL in his left leg. | vs. Calabasas
7. Agoura (4-2): The Chargers defeat Santa Paula 35-10 thanks to QB Gavin Gray’s four-touchdown performance. He threw for 285 yards on 21 of 28 passing. | at Dos Pueblos
8. Hart (5-2): Hart’s offense continues to show off in a 63-21 win over West Ranch. | vs. Castaic
9. Saugus (5-2): The Centurions shake off a two-game losing streak with a 48-20 win over Canyon. QB Jake Nuttall threw for 215 yards and three TDs. Ty Hall ran for 129 yards and a touchdown. | vs. West Ranch
10. Thousand Oaks (5-1): Lancers outlast Calabasas, 49-34. Jordan Johnson ran for 245 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries. Great running back duel. Calabasas’ Dezmyn Hardy ran for 100 yards and three scores in a loss. | vs. Westlake
