The National Weather Service released a lake wind advisory at 2:06 p.m. on Tuesday valid from Wednesday 2 p.m. until Thursday, Mar. 27 at 8 p.m. for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area.
The NWS Reno NV states to expect, “Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph and waves 2 to 4 feet for Lake Tahoe.”
“Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve,” the NWS said. “Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.”
