Lake wind advisory for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area until early Saturday evening, winds gusting up to 35 mph
At 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a lake wind advisory valid between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area.
The NWS Reno NV states to be ready for, “West to southwest winds around 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and waves 1 to 3 feet for Lake Tahoe.”
“Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve,” the NWS said. “Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.”
