Letters: Trump doesn’t deserve the Nobel Peace Prize

RIGGED!

Everyone knows the Nobel Prize voting is RIGGED!  If it weren’t, President Donald (“I hate my opponents.”) Trump would have won in multiple categories. In part, the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to a nominee who has “done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations.” Okay, so in his United Nations speech he told UN members that their countries “were going to hell.” So what if he has bombed multiple Venezuelan boats? It’s old news that he wanted to take over Greenland and make Canada the 51st state. Fraternity between nations is so overrated.

Trump should  have won a Nobel Prize for medicine. Who can forget his stellar work regarding Tylenol, pregnant women and autism?  And he almost pronounced acetaminophen correctly without help.

If he continues with his current domestic policies, Trump will join the ranks of past Prize winners Nelson Mandela, MLK Jr., Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama (probably DEI winners) and win the award. After that, once he invokes the Insurrection Act and declares martial law, there will be no telling what he can accomplish.

Trump desperately wants the prize. Too bad.

Anyone who personally campaigns for the Nobel Peace Prize is undeserving of the prize. His vulgar and exposed ambitions for the recognition the prize brings are pitiful for a leader in possession of so much power. Yes, pitiful. Self-congratulation might fill some other ballot boxes, just not this one, thanks be to God.

Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to Trump would be a joke

Giving Trump a Nobel Peace Prize would be a cruel joke. He has declared war on selected American cities, calling protestors who disagree with his policies “insurrectionists,” sending in helicopters and troops to provoke fear. His posted meme reflecting the movie “Apocalypse Now” with him attacking Chicago was bizarre. He has declared war on alleged drug smugglers off Venezuela, offering no proof of imminent threat, but killing them even as they turned away.  His mystifying trust of Putin has only stretched out the war in Ukraine that he declared he would end on Day 1. I give him some credit in the Israeli-Hamas war, but that was only after Netanyahu felt he had accomplished his goals of destroying Hamas by leveling Gaza. Trump is no man of peace, just a politician seeking political advantage.
