If you happen to be feeling a little light-headed after England’s dramatic win over Slovakia, Ed Davey’s probably got one up on you.
The Lib Dem leader kicked off his week with a bungee jumping stunt aimed at convincing voters to take the plunge for his party.
‘Vote Liberal Democrat!’ he screamed repeatedly after leaping off a crane in Eastbourne, urging voters to ‘do something you’ve never done before’.
It’s the first time a British politician has been publicly hung on a rope since Laurence Shirley, a peer of the House of Lords, was executed for murdering a servant in 1760 – though the stakes were much lower for Mr Davey.
