Lily Allen and David Harbour list NYC townhouse for $8 million amid split

Singer Lily Allen and “Stranger Things” actor David Harbour have listed their tony Brooklyn townhouse for $8 million, barely two days after her newest album and its strongly implied cheating allegations outed him as her reverse muse.

The ex-couple hopes the Architectural Digest-featured Carroll Gardens digs will fetch a cool $7,995,000. They paid $3.4 million for it in 2021 and hired AD100 designer Billy Cotton and architect Ben Bischoff of MADE for a complete redo, according to the listing at Compass Real Estate. Built in 1899, the four-level, 3,960-square-foot home boasts five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a gym and a backyard, and is “nestled on one of the most sought-after blocks in Carroll Gardens,” according to its description.

“West End Girl” dropped on Friday, Allen’s first album in seven years, and it is loaded with barely veiled references to Harbour’s faux bachelor pad, his alleged deception and even bold allusions to his rumored paramour. In fact, it boils down to a virtual recap of the disintegration of their four-year marriage.

Already known for her biting lyrics, Allen does not hold back on “West End Girl.” The first song, which the album is named after, is an apparent nod to the unity the Brooklyn home represented for her, her two daughters, and Harbour. It ends with her disappointment at a “change” in his demeanor when she got cast in a play in London. Allen implies that Harbour pushed for an open marriage, but only so he could cheat, and the sting of that betrayal also runs through the lyrics.

Harbour and Allen met in 2019 on the celeb dating site Raya. They married in a secret Las Vegas ceremony officiated by “Elvis” in 2020, and Allen moved to New York. They separated in 2024 and publicly confirmed they were quits in February 2025. Allen has hedged just a little about how closely the work resembles her actual life.

“There are things that are on the record that I experienced within my marriage, but that’s not to say that it’s all gospel,” she told British Vogue in an interview published earlier this month. “It is inspired by what went on in the relationship.”
