Livermore police raid middle schoolers home after report of armed robbery at Starbucks

LIVERMORE — Police here raided the home of a middle school student late last month, seizing a Glock pistol, ammunition, and a BB gun, after a report that the boy had robbed a fellow student at a local coffee shop, court records show.

The boy, identified by authorities only as a student at Christensen Middle School, was suspected of robbing a fellow student at a Starbucks of a popular $80 backpack tag. Witnesses reportedly saw a pistol on his waistband during the incident, which occurred after school on Aug. 22, a possible indication he had the weapon with him at school, authorities said.

It’s unclear whether the boy was charged, as juvenile court filings are given privacy protections under state law.

The same boy was previously involved in a police investigation back in April, when suspected teen gang members showed up to the school looking to fight him, authorities said.

The Glock pistol seized at the Livermore home was unregistered and the boy’s parents didn’t have any firearms registered to them, authorities said.
