Lone Tree man sent to prison for distributing child sex abuse images

A 29-year-old Lone Tree man who pleaded guilty to child sex exploitation and distributing images of child sexual abuse was sentenced to four years in prison Friday.

Daryl Henry Joe Jr. was sentenced by Douglas County District Judge Victoria Klingensmith to four years in the Colorado Department of Corrections and 10 years of probation, court records show.

Joe was arrested in October 2023 after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led Lone Tree police to investigate him. Detectives found hundreds of thousands of images of child sexual abuse, and he later admitted to possessing and distributing the images, according to the 23rd Judicial District.

Joe pleaded guilty to two counts of child sexual exploitation related to distribution in April, both felonies. Prosecutors dismissed eight counts of child sexual exploitation as part of a plea agreement.

An attorney for Joe could not be reached for comment immediately.
