Long Beach’s Sublime, Alanis Morissette, Lenny Kravitz headline 6th BeachLife Festival

Rockers Lenny Kravitz and Alanis Morissette, along with Long Beach reggae stars Sublime, will headline the sixth annual BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach, which will boast a stacked lineup — that also includes iconic musicians such as Jackson Browne and members of The Beach Boys.

Officials announced the lineup on Tuesday morning, Jan. 7.

The festival will include not only a packed lineup of bands and solo performers but also art, gourmet food and more during its three-day run, from May 2 to 4.

BeachLife will feature nearly 40 acts on multiple stages, including the bands Train, O.A.R., Cake and Mt. Joy, along with classic hitmakers Pretenders and Susanna Hoffs, who is the lead singer of The Bangles.

Long Beach’s reggae and the South Bay’s punk heritage will be well represented at BeachLife. Sublime will headline on May 3, with Bad Religion’s Greg Graffin, an influential punk band frontman, performing an acoustic set that day. The day before, there will be solo acoustic sets from punk icons Jim Lindberg, frontman for Pennywise, as well as BeachLife brand director and SpeakEasy Stage curator; and Descendants frontman Milo Aukerman.

Because the festival is a family friendly event, founder Allen Sanford said, organizers they “dreamed up a way of doing punk rock without doing punk rock” at the event’s acoustic SpeakEasy Stage.

“You have, arguably, three of the larger punk rock bands of all time from around here,” Sanford said, “and they’re all coming to play acoustic, which will be just insane.”

Kravitz, known for his many hits, including “Fly Away,” will headline opening night on Friday, May 2, along with Train and O.A.R.

On Saturday, May 3, Sublime will headline, along with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members Pretenders and the band Cake.

Morissette, who is celebrating the 30th anniversary release of her blockbuster album “Jagged Little Pill” this year, will headline BeachLife on Sunday, May 4. Also on the bill are Mt. Joy, Jackson Browne and Hawthorne’s own The Beach Boys, led by original member Mike Love.

Kravitz and Morissette recently helped bring in 2025 with performances on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest, which Sanford said he enjoyed watching with his family — knowing they were headlining BeachLife.

BeachLife launched in 2019, with the legendary Willie Nelson, Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead and Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys performing. The festival typically attracts around 10,000 attendees a day.

Since then, other superstars have performed at BeachLife, including Sting, Incubus, Gwen Stefani, John Fogerty, The Black Crowes, The Black Keys, Weezer, Sheryl Crow, The Smashing Pumpkins, Steve Miller Band, Jane’s Addiction and Counting Crows, among many more.

Last year was a challenge, Sanford said, since the festival’s last day was marred a bit by high winds on May 5 during ZZ Top’s performance — which cut the final day short before headliners  My Morning Jacket could take the stage.

“It was pretty brutal for a business,” Sanford said. “We feel like we handled it well and that we’ve rebounded. We did the right thing. We gave refunds to those that felt like they didn’t get a good product. And we’re really hoping that the BeachLife community comes out in mass to support us and to enjoy the show in May.”

This year, BeachLife, which will once again take place at Seaside Lagoon, will also usher in the California Surf Club, which is expected to open in February.

The 21,000-square-foot venue is a “fine-dining and full-service membership club” adjacent to the BeachLife site. The club will be composed of a restaurant and bar, along with a second building that will be a membership-based club with a sunset deck and garden.

The club will be open to members and BeachLife VIP ticket holders, Sanford said.

As in previous years, BeachLife will feature celebrity chefs, along with multiple dining opportunities, including bars, lounges, food vendors and food trucks, with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options available.

BeachLife will continue to support various philanthropic endeavors and will hold a silent auction in partnership with the LA Kings Care Foundation.

Philanthropic partners include Heal the Bay, Surfrider Foundation, Redondo Beach Education Fund, Wyland Foundation and Redondo Beach Police Foundation.

Single and three-day tickets are now available at various levels.
