Lottery ticket worth more than $350,000 sold at Alameda gas station

ALAMEDA — It pales in comparison to the $93 million Super Lotto winning ticket sold there in 2007, but someone who purchased a Fantasy 5 ticket at the same gas station Monday won the $353,556 jackpot, officials said.

The winner has yet to come forward. But if is like the prior winner, it is probably a regular customer, said Simon Kim, owner of the Harbor Bay 76 station, 3255 Mecartney Rd. on Bay Farm Island where both winning tickets were sold.

The player was the only one in the state to pick all five numbers, which were 9, 11, 14, 30 and 32.

Kim began selling lottery tickets at the station soon after he first opened in 1984. It is the only gas station on Bay Farm Island.

He said “of course, of course” he was happy for whoever won. “The economy is not good and this is really good news for the customer,” he said.

His station has sold other big winning tickets, including the $93 million Super Lotto game ticket sold in 2007 to a woman who was a regular customer.

Whoever won Monday’s jackpot has 180 days from the day of the draw to claim their prize.

Fantasy 5 is played every night of the week. Tuesday night’s minimum jackpot will be at least $74,000.
