A man has been airlifted to hospital after a tractor fell off a bridge onto a motorway.

The tractor fell from the A227 bridge near Wrotham in Kent and fell onto the central reservation of the M20.

What appears to be a trailer was pictured lying on its side on the bridge.

Part of the motorway was closed just before midday, and by 1pm the road had been closed in both directions between junction three for Addington and one for Swanley.

Kent Fire & Rescue Service said the road could be closed for up to six hours while emergency services are at the scene.
