Major incident declared after multiple people stabbed inside rail station

Three people are fighting for their life after a knife rampage in Germany, it is claimed.

Police have declared a major incident after the attack at Hamburg Central Station at 6pm local time (5pm GMT).

Initially, there were reports of eight victims, but the number has since risen to 12.

Three people are in critical condition, three others are seriously injured, and six people are slightly wounded, Bild reported.

The incident occurred on platform 13/14.

Police said in a statement on X: ‘There is currently a major police operation in Hamburg.

‘We are investigating the background and will provide further information here shortly.’
