Travel to London Euston has been affected again after a power issue brought trains to a halt this morning.

Passengers were warned of severe delays this morning after a power supply issue.

Trains between Watford Junction and London Euston are affected, National Rail said.

Trains could be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 20 minutes this morning.

The disruption is expected to last at least until 8.30am.

National Rail said it was due to a ‘fault with the electric third rail and a speed restriction over a defective track’ between Watford and Euston.

London Overground, Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway are affected.

Train routes affected

Here are all the routes hit by the disruption this morning.

-Avanti West Coast between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central / Blackpoool North / Lancaster / Manchester Piccadilly / Liverpool Lime Street / Chester / Holyhead / Wolverhampton / Birmingham New Street and London Euston

-London Northwestern Railway between Crewe / Birmingham New Street / Coventry / Rugby / Northampton / Milton Keynes Central / Bletchley / Tring and London Euston

-London Overground between Watford Junction and London Euston

Avanti West Coast said on X (formerly Twitter) that all services in and out of Euston will be affected, but ‘the Manchester route will be affected more with cancellations.’

Transport for London was contacted for a comment.

Today’s disruption comes after trains to Euston were affected yesterday after a chemical spillage on tracks near Crewe.

Passengers may be entitled to compensation, so it is worth checking with your train company.
