A man was ‘breastfed’ by a 60-year-old woman for ten minutes as a ‘way of getting back at his mother’, a court has heard.

Michael Jones, 32, ‘who has attachment issues’ had the secret moonlight rendezvous on a cycle track with the woman despite being banned from seeing her.

Jones had previously assaulted the 60-year-old with whom he shared a ‘mother-and-son’ type relationship.

But Caernarfon Crown Court heard that he met up with her on three occasions during the summer, including ‘breastfeeding’ from her, putting him in breach of a restraining order.

Prosecutor Amy Edwards said the woman saw Jones of Glan Cadnant, Caernarfon on a cycle path.

He looked ‘tired’ so she left him a bottle of water. They messaged each other on Facebook afterwards and met in a park in Caernarfon at night in July.

The woman said she wanted to tell Jones that their relationship was over, and for him to stop contacting her.

She said it was a ‘mother and son’ type of relationship whereas he classed himself as a ‘caregiver’.

Ms Edwards said the defendant told her he had a ‘hatred towards women’ and ‘an odd fascination with [the woman’s] breasts’.

Days later they met on a cycle track again. They kissed consensually and ‘she allowed him to breast feed for 10 minutes’.

He told her he spoke to women of her age ‘as a way of getting back at his mother’, said the prosecutor.

The woman later said she knew it was ‘strange behaviour’ but it had been part of their relationship.

On July 14, Jones rang the woman to say he was starving and asked her to come to his flat. But when she did he would not initially let her leave, the court heard.

When she did leave, she left the area for a time to stay with a friend because she was afraid of what might happen next. On July 28, Jones told his probation worker about the ‘secret’ meetings in ‘concealed’ locations.

The probation officer told the police. In a statement the 60-year-old woman said her health had worsened due to the stress of her ordeal.

She said: ‘I know he’s obsessed with me. I know from experience that the obsession is dangerous.’

Today Dafydd Roberts, defending, said Jones has a new focus because he has a girlfriend.

Mr Roberts added: ‘While she talks about the harm she suffered her conduct suggests she was more prepared to have this contact than she admits.’

She met him late at night in quiet locations. However, Mr Roberts said Jones does have ‘attachment problems’.

‘He knows he should not have been having contact with her but he could not stop himself,’ said Mr Roberts.

The judge, Her Honour Nicola Jones, added that the woman was ‘very complicit’ in what was going on.

The judge told the defendant he had mental health and other problems but said he had breached the restraining order three times.

She jailed him for three months for the breaches and activated 12 months from his suspended sentence, making a total of 15 months’ imprisonment.

The restraining order not to contact his victim was extended for three years to end on June 5, 2030.
