A 49-year-old man has been charged with fatally shooting another man over the weekend on the Near North Side.
Maurice Timms of Streeterville is accused of shooting and killing Devon LaSalle, 41, early Sunday in the 800 block of North Cambridge Avenue.
Officers found LaSalle about 12:20 a.m. with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, Chicago police previously said. He was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Timms was arrested about four hours later on the same block, police said.
He is charged with felony counts of first-degree murder, habitual criminal and unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Timms was ordered held pending trial during a detention hearing Tuesday.
