A 26-year-old man was arrested in Grand County in connection with a missing Aurora teen who was found safe in Las Vegas this week, police said Wednesday.
Police arrested Christian Tyler Williamson on suspicion of internet sexual exploitation of a child and internet luring of a child, according to the Aurora Police Department.
Law enforcement started searching for the 14-year-old girl after she disappeared from her home in southeast Aurora on June 15.
Federal and local investigators identified Williamson as a suspect in the case and arrested him Wednesday. He then told police the girl was in Las Vegas, where local law enforcement found her later that day.
Williamson was communicating with the girl for several months before she went missing, Aurora police said in a post on social media. Agency officials expect additional charges will be filed against Williamson in her disappearance.
“We continue to coordinate with our law enforcement partners in Las Vegas regarding a possible suspect there, as well as efforts to bring (the teen) home,” Aurora police said on social media.
Williamson is being held without bail at the Grand County Jail, court records show.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
