A man was beaten and robbed at gunpoint Thursday afternoon in the West Loop, according to Chicago police.
The 49-year-old man was standing near the sidewalk in the 200 block of North Peoria Street around 4:25 p.m. when two individuals approached him and demanded his belongings, police said in a statement.
One of them pointed a firearm at the man while the other beat him, police said. Both took items from the man and fled in an SUV.
The man declined medical attention, officials said. Area 3 detectives were investigating.
