Charges were pending against a man who attempted to access the field at Wrigley Field Wednesday night before the Cubs game.
Officers responded to a disturbance at Wrigley Field, 1060 W. Addison St., for a man who was attempting to enter the field of play, Chicago police said.
It happened about 5:10 p.m., a couple of hours before a Cubs Brewers game started.
The man then kicked a 35-year-old man before he was escorted from the field, police said. The man who was kicked declined medical attention.
“Ahead of last night’s game, an individual accessed the field without authorization and was removed from the ballpark,” a spokesperson for the Cubs said.
The trespasser was taken into custody, authorities said.
The Cubs won Wednesday night’s game 4-3 and will wrap up a five game series with the Milwaukee Brewers Thursday afternoon.
