A 25-year-old man was charged Saturday in the fatal stabbing of a woman in Logan Square on Wednesday, Chicago police said.
Victor Hernandez was arrested Wednesday on Lake Shore Drive in the Near South Side neighborhood about two hours after allegedly stabbing 55-year-old Vanessa Hernandez in her face and neck, according to police.
He was charged with first-degree murder.
The two allegedly were fighting in an an apartment in the 2800 block of North Woodard Avenue about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday when he repeatedly stabbed her, police said. Victor Hernandez fled, and Vanessa Hernandez was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police did not say when Victor Hernandez will make his first court appearance.
