A man has been arrested and charged on suspicion of an attempted kidnapping in Broomfield, according to a news release from the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Jonathan Barker, 29, is charged with second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to the release.
On Sept. 13, the District Attorney’s Office says, Barker attempted to take a 17-year-old Arby’s employee from the lobby of the fast food restaurant at 8950 Metro Airport Ave., off Wadsworth Parkway a short drive south of U.S. 36.
Fellow employees intervened and Broomfield police arrived on scene, the release said.
Barker was being held at the Broomfield Detention Center on a $5,000 bail, according to an online jail record. He is set to appear in Broomfield County District Court for a preliminary hearing Oct. 16.
