A man was charged Wednesday with pointing a gun at Chicago police officers in the South Shore neighborhood.
Rakim Kendall, 31, was arrested Monday in the 7100 block of South Cyril Avenue and charged with five felony counts of aggravated assault to a police officer, Chicago police said.
About 10:15 p.m. Monday, officers were responding to calls of a person with a gun in the 7100 block of South Jeffery Boulevard and approached Kendall, according to police. Kendall then pointed his weapon at officers and began running away, they said.
During a foot chase, an officer fired his weapon but didn’t strike Kendall, police said.
Kendall is expected in court Wednesday.
