A man was fatally shot Wednesday in an Austin parking lot, according to Chicago police.
The 42-year-old was outside about 6:15 p.m. in the 5000 block of West Madison Street when a driver approached him and an occupant of the car fired shots, police said in a statement.
He suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died, police said.
No one is in custody, and detectives are investigating.
