A man died Monday night, days after he was found unresponsive and floating on July 4 in Boulder Creek, the city announced in a Tuesday news release.
The Boulder Police Department and Fire Rescue received a report at about 2:26 p.m. July 4 of a man’s body floating in the creek between 55th and 63rd streets. First responders found and removed the man from the creek at about 2:48 p.m. from the creek underpass at 61st street, just north of Valmont Avenue.
The news release said that rescuers began CPR immediately and the man was taken to Boulder Community Hospital shortly after. Foul play is not suspected and there is no risk to the public, the release said.
Boulder Fire-Rescue, Boulder Police Department, Open Space Mountain Parks, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Boulder Rural Fire responded to the scene.
