A motorist has died after ramming his car into a tree late Monday night in Austin on the West Side.
Around 11:15 p.m., a 39-year-old man was driving a Buick sedan at a high rate of speed in the 4600 block of West Maypole Avenue when he lost control and plowed into a tree, Chicago police said.
The unidentified man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
