A motorist has died after plowing head-on into a median late Thursday near 63rd Street Beach in the Jackson Park neighborhood.
Officers responded to the crash around 11:50 p.m. after the driver struck a median while going south in the 6300 block of South Coast Guard Drive, Chicago police said.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No one else was in the vehicle.
The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is probing the crash.
