A suspect was arrested in a stabbing at a hotel in Wellington on Wednesday, where witnesses told Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies that the suspect had allegedly made “derogatory racial comments,” according to an LCSO press release.
The suspect, 30-year-old Wellington resident Dominic Alley, was arrested Wednesday after dispatch received a 911 report of a stabbing at a hotel in the 7800 block of Sixth Street, according to the press release. The 911 caller said that two men were arguing in a hotel lobby when Alley reportedly stabbed the victim, the press release stated.
When deputies arrived on scene, the victim was transported to a hospital with cuts that were not life-threatening, the press release stated, adding that witnesses also told deputies about the alleged “derogatory racial comments” they heard while Alley and the victim were reportedly arguing.
Alley is facing charges for second-degree assault with a weapon, bias motivated crime that knowingly causes bodily injury and menacing with a weapon, according to Larimer County Jail records. He was issued a $75,000 cash/surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in 8th Judicial District Court in Fort Collins at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to court records.
