A man was fatally shot on the 6500 block of Camden Avenue, near the intersection with the Almaden Expressway in South San Jose, on Friday night, police reported.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 10:40 pm. Officers arrived on scene to find an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Despite immediate life-saving efforts by emergency medical workers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
A suspect was taken into custody during the investigation. San Jose police have not yet released the suspect’s name, and the investigation into the motive and circumstances of the shooting is ongoing. This marks the 11th homicide in San Jose in 2025.
The victim’s identity will be disclosed by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
