Man fatally shot in Dolores Park identified as SJSU student, Seals soccer team member

A 19-year-old man who was fatally shot Wednesday night in San Francisco’s Mission Dolores Park has been identified as Luis Arguello-Inglis, a freshman majoring in communications at San Jose State University.

The shooting was reported around 10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Inglis lying on the ground near the park’s south edge.

First responders and paramedics provided aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A GoFundMe page in the teen’s memory had collected over 400 donations and raised more than $33,000 as of Sunday afternoon.

“Luis was a bright light in our lives, filled with love, laughter and boundless potential,” the page read. “His loss has left a void in our hearts that can never be filled.”

Inglis played center back for the San Francisco Seals soccer team, the team said in an Instagram post.

“He is remembered as a quiet guy who showed wisdom beyond his years,” the post said. “Our hearts are with his family, friends and community.”
