A man was dead on the scene at the Granville CTA station in Edgewater after being hit by a Red Line train, officials said.
Full service has resumed on the Red and Purple lines, though trains are bypassing the Granville station in both directions after the death, which happened at 9 a.m., the CTA said in an alert.
The unidentified man hit by the train was dead at the scene, Chicago police said.
No other injuries were reported.
Earlier, trains were only operating between Wilson and 95th Street, and shuttle buses were made available.
Area 3 detectives are investigating.
